MERKULOV & TOPOROWSKI RECORD MULTI-POINT NIGHTS IN 4-2 WIN AT SPRINGFIELD

Springfield, Mass. – Georgii Merkulov and Luke Toporowski each posted a goal and an assist to lead the Providence Bruins to a 4-2 victory over the Springfield Thunderbirds in the first game of the preseason. Providence tallied 37 shots on goal, while goaltender Brandon Bussi stopped 22 of 24 shots faced in the Bruins zone.

 

Stats

-Georgii Merkulov scored a power play goal and assisted the Toporowski goal.

-Luke Toporowski also recorded a goal and an assist.

-Curtis Hall and Mitchell Fossier tallied the other goals for the Bruins.

-Brandon Bussi stopped 22 of 24 shots faced.

-The power play was successful on one of four attempts.

-The penalty kill was 4-for4 in the game.
