Rookie Forward Returns to ECHL's Royals

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, in their 19th season in the American Hockey League, today announced that they have assigned forward Antoine Roussel to the ECHL's Reading Royals.

Roussel, 21, has appeared in 42 games for Providence this season, scoring one goal and adding seven assists. He's also accumulated 88 penalty minutes and registered a plus-five rating.

The rookie forward returns to Reading, where he tallied one assist in three games for the Royals during a brief assignment from late-January into early February.

The undrafted native of Roubaix, France, signed an AHL contract with Providence on Aug. 9, 2010 after spending four junior seasons with the Chicoutimi Sagueneens of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. In juniors, Roussel registered 154 points, including 63 goals, in 272 games between the regular season and playoffs.

The P-Bruins' roster is comprised of 27 players, including 14 forwards, 11 defensemen and two goaltenders.

The P-Bruins return to action on Friday at the Dunkin' Donuts Center to host Connecticut at 7:05 p.m. for Visor Night. The visors are free to the first 2,000 fans in attendance.
