P-BRUINS FALL TO BEARS 3-2 IN OT

Host Game 5 Of Conference Finals Monday, May 25

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins fell to the Hershey Bears 3-2 in overtime Sunday evening at the Dunkin' Donuts Center.  The P-Bruins got their goals from Peter Schaefer and Jeff Penner.  The Bears lead the best of seven series 3 games to 1.  The P-Bruins return to the Dunkin' Donuts Center on Monday, May 25 at 7:05 p.m. for Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

The P-Bruins took a 1-0 lead at the 5:32 mark of the opening period.  Adam McQuaid sent the puck in the zone for Mikko Lehtonen, who picked it up at the blue line.  He passed it to Schaefer in the left face off circle and Schaefer netted his third goal of the post-season.  Providence went ahead 2-0 at the 8:12 mark, while on the power play.  Brad Marchand held the puck at the right point and fed Vladimir Sobotka cutting towards the slot.  Sobotka found Penner in the right face off circle as Penner tallied his sixth goal of the playoffs.  The P-Bruins led after the first period 2-0.

Hershey cut the lead in half at the 7:31 mark of the second period, while on the power play.  Bryan Helmer scored his third goal of the post-season, with Chris Bourque recording the lone assist.  Providence went into the second intermission leading 2-1.

The Bears tied the game at two at the 13:12 mark of the third period.  Keith Aucoin tallied his third goal of the playoffs, while Graham Mink and Alexandre Giroux picked up the assists.

In overtime, the Bears scored the game winning goal at the 15:10 mark.  Mink netted his fifth goal of the playoffs, while Aucoin and Giroux had the assists.  Hershey won 3-2.

Tuukka Rask stopped 40 of 43 shots for the P-Bruins, while Michal Neuvirth made 25 saves for the Bears.  The P-Bruins were 1-for-3 on the power play and 2-for-3 on the penalty kill.
