Providence Bruins, Dunkin’ launch We Love Hockey Moms & Dads promotion

Mar 8, 2021

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The local hockey community runs on the countless moms and dads who, weekend after weekend, wake up at dawn, grab a coffee and head to the rink. And, starting soon, the Providence Bruins and Dunkin’ are teaming up to say thank you.

Through their new We Love Hockey Moms and Dads promotion, the Providence Bruins and Dunkin’ are asking fans to nominate the moms, dads and loved ones in their lives to be selected as the Official Hockey Mom/Dad of the Providence Bruins.

Starting in March, a new winner will be selected every month. Each Official Hockey Mom/Dad will be recognized on the P-Bruins’ social media channels and on the center-ice scoreboard at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center during televised home games. Winners will also receive a prize pack donated by local Dunkin’ business owners, which will include a supply of Dunkin’ gift cards for the Official Hockey Mom/Dad’s entire team.

“As anybody who has ever worked the first shift at one of our restaurants can attest, hockey parents in Rhode Island and Bristol County, Massachusetts are a different breed,” said local Dunkin’ business owner Rob Batista. “Through their shared love for the game and support for their kids, these moms and dads have created a unique, inclusive community here in New England. All of us at Dunkin’ are proud to serve local hockey families, and we’re looking forward recognizing this community throughout the remainder of the P-Bruins’ season.”

Quetta Family honored as first ‘Official Hockey Parents of the Providence Bruins’

Before opening the We Love Hockey Moms & Dads nomination process, the Providence Bruins announced that Nicole and Anthony Quetta, Sr., the parents of Bishop Feehan senior AJ Quetta, who suffered a spinal cord injury during a recent hockey game, will be recognized as the team’s first-ever Official Hockey Mom and Dad. Dunkin’ also announced it will be making a $5,000 donation to AJ’s Army to support AJ’s treatment and recovery.

“Even during this incredibly difficult time for their family, Mr. and Mrs. Quetta have embodied the selfless, endlessly supportive nature that is so prominent in our hockey community,” said Jeff Hagan, President of the Providence Bruins.” “Our players and our entire organization are keeping AJ in our thoughts and prayers as he continues his recovery, and we remain inspired by his passion and love for the game, his team and his community.”
