Military Appreciation Weekend Player Jerseys

This season’s Military Appreciation Jersey features a unique design inspired by the United States Air Force. In recognition of the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the jersey features elements inspired by the Army Air Force, the precursor to the U.S. Air Force during World War II.

Front Crest
The front crest and striping are inspired by the Air Force Roundel, also known as the National Star Insignia. Variations of this iconic marking have been used on U.S. Military aircraft since 1919. The signature “bar” was added to the star during World War II, with the blue/red variation coming into service in 1947.

Command Patch
This shield is inspired by the Air Combat Command shield, featuring similar design elements including a stick and puck in place of the sword on the original emblem. Each of the 9 major commands of the U.S. Air Force has a unique shield, worn on the uniforms of airmen

“Hap” Arnold Wings
The golden wings symbolize "victorious operation” and are named for General Henry “Hap” Arnold, who commanded the Army Air Force in World War II. Arnold approved the design in 1942 and went on to become America’s only five-star Air Force General. Although the patch is no longer worn on Air Force uniforms, the design appears on U.S. Air Force uniform buttons.

“Skate-Fight-Win”
Inspired by the U.S. Air Force motto, “Aim High…Fly-Fight-Win,” which was officially adopted in 2010 after a branch-wide survey of airmen. The motto honors the legacy of the air force, while acting as both a call-to-action and a promise in response.

Aviator Badge
This flight suit name patch is inspired by the Aviator Badge of an U.S.A.F. Pilot. It features 1992 in the top of the crest in honor of the team’s inaugural season, and “PROVIDENCE” as the name.

Stars & Stripes
In honor of military service members and veterans from all branches, the design features a variation of the United States flag as a shoulder patch on each jersey.
