The first place Providence Bruins (45-12-1-0) hit the road for two of this week’s three games as the countdown to postseason hockey begins. Having already clinched a spot in the 2026 Calder Cup Playoffs, the P-Bruins will travel to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Wednesday, head to the Utica Comets on Friday, then host the Comets at the Amica Mutual Pavilion on Sunday. With 14 games remaining in the regular season, the Providence Bruins hold a nine point lead for first place in the division and a one point lead in the American Hockey League standings.

Blueliner Ty Gallager has helped propel the P-Bruins’ offense, posting five points in his last two games and 11 in his last seven appearances. The defenseman netted his first professional hat-trick in last Saturday’s 7-0 victory over the Hartford Wolf Pack. The Clarkston, Michigan, native totals seven goals and 11 assists through 31 games of his first full season of professional hockey.

Newcomer Lukas Reichel made a splash in his first week as a Providence Bruin. The forward netted the game-winning goal in overtime and added an assist in last Wednesday’s 3-2 overtime victory in Springfield, before posting three assists in the 7-0 win over Hartford on Saturday. The Nürnberg, Germany, native totals seven goals and 11 assists through 26 AHL games this season between Abbotsford and Providence.

Goaltender Michael DiPietro continued his stellar season last week. The netminder stopped all 13 shots faced in Saturday’s 7-0 win over Hartford to record his second shutout of the season. On Wednesday, he saved 25 of the 27 shots he faced to help the P-Bruins to a 3-2 overtime victory in Springfield. The Windsor, Ontario, native leads the AHL with a 1.80 goals against average, a .936 save percentage, and 28 wins.

The Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the next opponent on the schedule, are led by forward Lane Pederson, who totals 21 goals and 21 assists through 55 games this season. Former Providence Bruin Anthony Richard has amassed 16 goals and 25 assists through 53 games as well. Goaltender Aleksei Kolosov has posted a 2.71 goals against average and a .903 save percentage, along with 12 wins.
