The first place Providence Bruins (51-14-2-0) will play three games in three days as the 2025-26 regular season winds down. Providence will travel to the Hartford Wolf Pack (24-34-5-3) on Friday night, before hosting the Rochester Americans (30-27-5-4) on Saturday and the Springfield Thunderbirds (29-29-6-2) on Sunday. With five games remaining in the regular season, the P-Bruins’s magic number is down to one to secure the Atlantic Division regular season title, holding a ten point lead over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
Having earned five out of six possible points on last week’s road trip to upstate New York, the P-Bruins were backended by stellar goaltending performances from Michael DiPietro and Simon Zajicek. The duo stopped a combined 66 of 72 shots faced in the three games, allowing opponents just two goals in each game. DiPietro leads the AHL with a 1.95 goals against average, .929 save percentage, and 32 wins in 42 games played this season.
Max Wanner and Navrin Mutter netted their first goals in Providence uniforms during last Friday’s 4-2 victory in Syracuse. Mutter redirected the puck into the back of the net 2:52 into the opening frame to give the P-Bruins an early lead, while Wanner’s tally stood as the game-winning goal in the second period.
Captain Patrick Brown scored twice in the victory over Syracuse last Friday. The forward gave Providence a 2-1 lead late in the first period by capping off the perfect sequence of puck movement on the power play, before sealing the victory with the empty net goal. The Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, native ranks second on the team with 33 assists and third on the team with 19 goals and a career-best 52 points. He is also tied for the team lead with six power play goals.
The Wolf Pack are led by Trey Fix-Wolansky, who totals 46 points on 27 goals and 19 assists through 66 games this season. Brendan Brisson is second on the team with 16 goals and 32 points. Goaltender Dylan Garand leads netminders with a 2.83 goals against average and a .896 save percentage along with 16 wins through 36 games played this season.
