The first place Providence Bruins (8-1-0-0) will travel west to Cleveland, Ohio to face-off with the Monsters (3-1-2-1) in a two-game weekend series at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse.

The P-Bruins took four out of a possible six points last week, winning a battle of unbeaten teams at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 3-1, before falling to Hershey 2-0 at home for the first loss of the season. Providence bounced back with a 5-2 victory over Charlotte to end the weekend.

Forward Riley Tufte remained hot last week, netting the game-winning goal in last Wednesday’s victory at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, then posting a three point night with two goals in the win over Charlotte on Sunday. The Coon Rapids, Minnesota, native ranks first in the AHL with 14 points and tied for second in the league with seven goals.

Tufte’s linemate, Patrick Brown, also continued his hot start. The captain recorded two assists in the victory at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, then notched a goal and an assist in the win over Charlotte. The Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, native is tied for fifth in the AHL with 12 points (5-7-12).

Despite recording his first loss of the season, in which he stopped 27 of 28 shots faced, rookie goaltender Simon Zajicek has continued his strong start to his first campaign. The Frydlant, Czechia, native ranks third in the AHL with a 1.51 goals against average and a .945 save percentage.

On the other side of the ice, Luca Del Bel Belluz has been Cleveland’s go-to forward to start the season, posting three goals and two assists through seven games played. Forward Jordan Dumais has also notched two goals and three assists in just four appearances this season. Goaltender Ivan Fedotov has seen the majority of minutes thus far, posting a 2.38 goals against average and a .902 save percentage with a 2-1-2 record in five starts.
