The first place Providence Bruins (37-8-1-0) tied the franchise record with their 12th straight victory on Sunday evening in a 3-2 overtime victory over the Bridgeport Islanders. They aim to break that record on Friday when they host the Belleville Senators at 7:05 p.m. On Saturday, the P-Bruins will travel to Springfield to face off with the Thunderbirds at 6:05 p.m., before concluding the weekend hosting the Hartford Wolf Pack at 3:05 p.m. on Sunday.

Providence has won all three matchups against Belleville this season, including a 2-1 overtime victory at the Amica Mutual Pavilion on January 23. The P-Bruins have taken four of the six previous contests against the Thunderbirds. Providence is 5-1 against Hartford this season, including an overtime and shootout victory.

Goaltending has been the star for Providence through the month of February, allowing an average of 1.17 goals per game over the six game stretch. In four appearances during the calendar month, Michael DiPietro has stopped 117 of 121 shots faced. The Windsor, Ontario, native ranks first in the AHL with a 1.64 goals against average and a .942 save percentage this season. The 2026 all-star selection’s 21 wins are tied for first in the league.

Defensemen Frederic Brunet and Christian Wolanin have each tallied goals in back-to-back games. Brunet scored the overtime-winning goal on Sunday against Bridgeport and totals 10 goals and 16 assists through 46 games this season. Wolanin netted his third power play goal of the season on Saturday and has amassed six goals and 14 assists through 31 games this season.

Riley Tufte scored his team leading 20th goal of the season and added an assist in Providence’s 4-2 victory at Bridgeport on Saturday. His full-ice shot found the empty net to seal the win for the P-Bruins. Tufte totals 20 goals and 16 assists through 39 games this season and is nine points away from tying his career best 45 points from the 2023-24 season.
