Hamilton, ON – Forward Mikey Eyssimont netted a natural hat trick in the final minutes of the game to cap off a 5-4 comeback victory for the Providence Bruins over the Hamilton Hammers on Friday night at TD Coliseum. Defenseman Ty Gallager recorded four assists in the victory. Riley Duran and Alex Steeves each posted a goal and an assist.

How It Happened

  • Joey Larson scored on a rebound at the bottom of the left circle to give the Hammers a 1-0 lead with 15:18 remaining in the first period.

  • Liam Foudy’s backhanded shot from the left post beat the glove side of the goaltender to extend the Hamilton lead to 2-0 with 5:09 to play in the first frame.

  • Pierre Engvall cleaned up a rebound in the slot and sent a snap shot inside the left post to give the Hammers a 3-0 lead with 8:42 left in the second period.

  • Gallagher fired a wrist shot from the right circle that rebounded out above the crease, where Duran slid a shot under the goaltender’s pads to cut the Hamilton lead to 3-1 with 15:21 remaining in the third period. Jordan Harris received a secondary assist.

  • Gallagher’s wrist shot from the point rebounded out to Steeves at the right post, where he flipped his second effort under the crossbar to shrink the Hammers’ lead to 3-2 with 9:18 to play in the third frame. Harris was credited with a secondary assist.

  • Cam Thiesing scored on a shorthanded breakaway to give Hamilton a 4-2 lead with 3:04 left in the third period.

  • Ivan Ivan zipped a pass from the left circle across the crease to Eyssimont at the right post, where he redirected it into the back of the net for a power play goal to cut the Hammers’ lead to 4-3 with 2:08 remaining in the third period. Steeves received a secondary assist.

  • Eyssimont scored on a rebound at the bottom of the left circle to tie the game at 4-4 exactly one minute later. Duran and Gallagher were credited with the assists.

  • Eyssimont won a battle on the left side boards, walked the puck down to the bottom of the circle, and snuck a wrist shot inside the near post to give the P-Bruins a 5-4 lead with 25 seconds to play in the third frame. Gallagher and Ivan received the assists.
