ENERGY SAFETY TIPS

Safety Tip #1: Home Generators

If you use a generator, be sure to keep it outdoors and away from doors, windows and vents.

Safety Tip #2: Outside Vents

Make sure to keep all outside vents to your home clear of snow and debris.

Safety Tip #3: Outage Alerts

Get outage alerts on your mobile phone, text 'REG' to 64743 and get updates to know when the power will come back on.

Safety Tip #4: Storm Planning

If a storm is predicted, plan ahead and make sure your mobile devices are fully charged in case of a power outage.

Safety Tip #5: Gas Leaks

If you smell something like rotten eggs in your home, it could be a gas leak. Report it immediately.

Safety Tip #6: Dig Safe

Call DIG SAFE at 811 before you dig in your yard to check for underground power lines and pipes.

Safety Tip #7: Power Lines

If you come across a downed power line, keep everyone away and report it immediately.

Safety Tip #8: Carbon Monoxide

Check the batteries in your carbon monoxide detectors regularly.
