Paul D. Fadale, MD

Paul Fadale, MD is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Fadale specializes in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. Dr. Fadale is currently a Professor at Brown University teaching medical students, orthopedic surgical residents and fellows the field of sports medicine. He has worked with numerous athletic programs and is the current Head Team Physician for Brown University Athletics and the Providence Bruins Professional Hockey Team.

Dr. Fadale has received the Excellence in Research Award and the Aircast Award for Basic Science from the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. He has received a Brown University Medical School Dean’s Teaching Excellence Award and an Excellence in Teaching Award from the Brown University Department of Orthopedics. He is a Rhode Island Monthly “Top Doc” in sports medicine winner multiple times for the state of Rhode Island. He has multiple active ongoing research interests. Dr. Fadale emphasizes a broad spectrum of treatment options, including sport specific treatments for athletes ranging from young athletes and professionals and the "weekend warrior". Dr. Fadale is experienced in minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery to reduce the length of the disability and speed the return to full activity with a less painful recovery.
 


 

Michael J. Hulstyn, M.D.

Michael J. Hulstyn, M.D., treats all types of injuries, specializing in shoulder and knee disorders. He treats patients of all ages, including professional, amateur and recreational athletes. While he performs surgical procedures using replacement ligaments and transferring donor tissues, Dr. Hulstyn is also researching how the body can improve its ability to heal without having to replace or remove torn cartilage or ligaments.

Raymond Pavlovich Jr. , M.D.

Dr. Ray Pavlovich has broad experience in general orthopedics. However, his main focus is advanced arthroscopic procedures of the shoulder and knee.

He is a recipient of the Nevaiser Award in Orthopedics. He has previous experience as a team physician with high school and collegiate teams.

His patients include professional athletes including several mixed martial artists. He remains involved in youth athletics as a coach.

Brett Owens, M.D.

Brett D. Owens, MD is a fellowship-trained, board certified orthopedic sports medicine surgeon, specializing in arthroscopic repair of sports-related injuries as well as complex knee and shoulder reconstructions. A Rhode Island native, he was recruited to University Orthopedics after serving as the Chief of Orthopedics and Sports Medicine at Keller Army Hospital at West Point, NY, where he cared for soldiers and cadets at the United States Military Academy and was Team Physician for the Army lacrosse, rugby, and football teams. While deployed in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom, LTC Owens served as Chief of Orthopedics at the 86th Combat Support Hospital.

Dr. Owens serves as Director of the Rhode Island Cartilage Repair Center, the Director of Sports Medicine at Miriam Hospital, and Director of Sports Medicine Research at Brown. He is currently Team Physician for Brown University and the Providence Bruins. He is a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Brown University, Alpert School of Medicine. He also serves as Associate Editor for the American Journal of Sports Medicine.

Dr. Owens was named by fellow orthopedists in Orthopedics This Week as one of the “Top 28 North American Knee Surgeons” in 2014. He has published over 200 articles in peer-reviewed medical journals, given over 300 national or international presentations, edited 3 textbooks on orthopedic injuries. His research has garnered 5 major awards from the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine.

Ramin Tabaddor, MD

Dr. Tabaddor has been practicing orthopedic surgery since 2009. He is a fellowship trained, CAQ certified sports medicine orthopedist, with a special concentration in hip and pelvic-related disorders (including femoroacetabular impingement, gluteus medius tears, athletic pubalgia and iliopsoas tendon tears). Dr. Tabaddor treats a wide range of sports related injuries, both surgical and nonsurgical, and he has had specialized training in hip arthroscopy. He holds an undergraduate degree with honors from Boston University and an MD from Boston University School of Medicine.

Additionally, he completed his surgical internship at Brigham & Women’s Hospital and his orthopedic residency at Harvard Combined Orthopedic Residency Program, where he also served as Chief Administrative Resident. Dr. Tabaddor’s professional affiliations include: American Orthopedic Society of Sports Medicine; International Society of Hip Arthroscopy; American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons; Arthroscopy Association of North America; and RI Orthopedic Society. He is a member of the physician referral network for USA Gymnastics and the Team Physician for the US In-line Speed Skating Team.

Dr. Tabaddor sits on the Sports Medicine Advisory Committee of the Federation of International Rollersports and the Sports Medicine Advisory Committee of the Rhode Island Interscholastic League. He has also provided coverage for Special Olympics, Boston Ballet, URI athletics and various high school sporting events in the state of Rhode Island. He is an avid runner and swimmer and enjoys participating in triathlons and paddle boarding. Dr. Tabaddor resides in Providence, RI.

Dr. Michel A. Arcand MD

Dr. Arcand treats a wide range of sports related injuries, with both operative and non-operative methods, specializing in upper and lower extremities. Typical injuries include rotator cuff tears and impingement, shoulder dislocations, arthritis, fractures as well as ligament tears and knee meniscal and ligament injuries. Dr. Arcand takes great care in providing each patient with an individual treatment plan with the goal of restoring function and the return to an active and healthy life style.

Dr. Arcand is actively involved in Sports Medicine evidenced by his affiliation with Bishop Hendricken Rugby Club and Newport Rugby Club.

On the personal side, Dr. Arcand and his wife Dominique reside in Northern Rhode Island. Their four sons are attending college. Dr. Arcand enjoys traveling, biking and running. He is also an avid outdoorsman.

Jonathan Schiller, M.D.

Dr. Schiller specializes in pediatric orthopaedics, specifically in the treatment of pediatric fracture care, limb deformity and lengthening, scoliosis, and adolescent and young adult hip problems. Dr. Schiller also specializes in hip arthroscopy. His current research interests include improving success of limb lengthening procedures, pediatric fracture management, scoliosis, and treatment of the adolescent and young adult hip problems. Dr. Schiller completed the Dorothy and Bryant Edwards Fellowship in Pediatric Orthopaedics and Scoliosis at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas, TX.

Michael J. Belanger MD

Dr. Belanger received a bachelor degree in Engineering as well as his MD from the University of Vermont. He completed his General Surgery Internship, Orthopaedic Residency and Trauma Fellowship at Brown University and a Sports Medicine Fellowship with Dr. William Grana at the University of Oklahoma.

Dr. Belanger is a Clinical Assistant Instructor for the Department of Orthopaedics, at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He is a member of the United States Ski and Snowboard Association Team Physician Pool. Dr. Belanger is a Fellow of The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery; member of The Rhode Island Orthopaedic Society; and board certified by The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is also a member of The Arthroscopy Association of North America, and The AO North America. Dr. Belanger has practiced at The Center for Orthopaedics since 2005.

On the personal side, Dr. Belanger and his wife Christine Emmick MD, a General Surgeon in Rhode Island, reside in Northern Rhode Island with three children. In his free time, Dr. Belanger enjoys snow and water skiing, boating and is an active youth soccer coach for his children.

David A. Moss, MD

Dr. Moss treats a wide range of sports related injuries, both surgical and nonsurgical, specializing in arthroscopic treatment. Typical injuries include rotator cuff tears, impingement, shoulder dislocations, arthritis, fractures, anterior cruciate ligament and meniscal tears. Dr. Moss takes great care in providing each patient with an individual treatment plan with the goal of restoring function and the return to an active and healthy life.

Dr. Moss, his wife Cheri and their three children reside in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. In his free time, Dr. Moss enjoys exercising and is an avid Philadelphia sports fan.

Drew Rogers, MD

Dr. Andrew (Drew) Rogers is a fellowship trained, board certified orthopedic surgeon with a subspecialty board certification in sports medicine. He is the Chief of Orthopedics at Morton Hospital, and is the Director of Hip Preservation at Newton-Wellesley Hospital.  He specializes in helping patients of all activity levels from professional to recreational and pediatric/adolescent with injuries of the hip, shoulder, and knee with non-operative management as well as complex arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgeries. 

He grew up in Framingham and graduated from the College of the Holy Cross, and earned his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. Rogers is a Team Physician for the Providence Bruins, Boston College Athletics, and is the Head Team Surgeon for UMass Dartmouth Athletics. He has served for many years as the Team Physician for USA Hockey in international tournaments including the National Development Team and the United States Men's World Championship Hockey Team and is a former team physician for Boston University Athletics and the Boston Ballet. 

Dr. Rogers is a member of numerous National and International sports organizations, frequently teaching at the local, national and international level on injuries of the hip, shoulder and knee, and is an Associate Master Instructor for Hip Preservation for the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA).  He is one of the few surgeons performing many of the pioneering endoscopic surgeries of the hip region including gluteus medius repairs with grafts as well as endoscopic hamstring repairs.  

His personal interests include spending time with his wife and 2 daughters, golfing, and fishing.
