Worcester, MA -- The Providence Bruins fell to the Worcester Sharks 3-2 this evening at The DCU Center. Michael Hutchinson posted 27 saves and Chris Bourque and Justin Florek scored as Providence's win streak was snapped at two.

Providence had ample opportunities to score in the first, including multiple chances right in front of Sharks netminder Alex Stalock. 45 seonds after Worcester's second penalty of the period expired, Bourque tallied his seventh goal of the season to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead. Craig Cunningham and Tommy Cross assisted. Just over a minute later, Sebastian Stalberg evened the score for the Sharks sending the teams into the first intermission tied 1-1.

Rookie Florek scored his second goal in as many nights at 7:55 of the second off another great feed from Cunningham to take the 2-1 lead. However, much like the first period, the Bruins couldn't hold the lead as the Sharks' Brodie Reid banked a shot off Hutchinson from the corner with 24 seconds to play in the period.

The Sharks had many great opportunities in the third, including a few extended volleys right in front of Hutchinson, but the Bruins netminder was solid between the pipes. However, the Sharks' Brandon Mashinter was finally able to beat Hutchinson with 3:37 to play in the final frame to take a 3-2 lead.

The Bruins pulled Hutchinson in a last ditch effort, but their efforts proved fruitless as the Sharks held the pressure in the Bruins zone as the clock wound down to zero.
