P-BRUINS READY FOR FOUR-GAME WEEK

Providence Home Friday and Sunday at The Dunk

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins are back at the Dunkin' Donuts Center for two home games this weekend on Friday and Sunday. The P-Bruins face the Lowell Devils Friday at 7:05 p.m. for Vladimir Sobotka Bobblehead Night and then take on the Manchester Monarchs Sunday at 4:05 p.m. for Zach Hamill Poster Night. For tickets to either of these games, visit providencebruins.com or call 401-273-5000. The P-Bruins will be on the road Wednesday against the Hartford Wolf Pack and again Saturday, taking on the Monarchs in Manchester. For Wednesday's road game, the P-Bruins will be hosting a Road Game Party at FiRE + iCE, beginning at 7 p.m. Fans will be able to watch and listen to the game at FiRE + iCE as the game is shown on the big screen. Bring a P-Bruins ticket stub and get an unlimited grill trip dinner for only $9.99.

This past week, the P-Bruins played two games, both of which were home at The Dunk. The P-Bruins began the weekend on Friday versus the Devils. Lowell scored in each of the three periods on its way to a 3-1 victory. The P-Bruins goal came on the power-play from Vladimir Sobotka, his 10th of the season. The helpers went to Martins Karsums and Martin St. Pierre, while Tuukka Rask stopped 28 of 31 shots.

On Sunday, the P-Bruins defeated the Springfield Falcons 5-1. Defenseman Johnny Boychuk was the top star of the game, scoring two goals in his return from the Boston Bruins. The other three goals came from Karsums, Jeremy Reich and Adam McQuaid. Karsums' last five goals have all come on the power-play. St. Pierre continued picking up assists with three on the afternoon and now leads the team with 20. On special teams, Providence went 2-for-6 on the power play and successfully killed all seven of Springfield's man-advantages. Rask made 18 saves grabbing his 10th victory of the season.

Through 24 games, St. Pierre takes the top spot on the team in scoring with 27 points (7g, 20a). Karsums is second on the team in scoring with 26 points (11g, 15a). The third and fourth spots are occupied by Boychuk's 25 points (6g, 19a) and Sobotka's 21 points (10g, 11a), respectively. Though currently in Boston, Matt Lashoff rounds out the top five on the team in scoring with 16 points (4g, 12a). In net, Rask is 10-6 with a 2.52 GAA and a .916 save percentage, while back-up Kevin Regan is 5-3 with a 3.22 GAA and .871 save percentage.

Ice Chips: The P-Bruins are tied for first in the Atlantic Division with the Portland Pirates, each team with 31 points... Martin St. Pierre is tied for eighth in the league in scoring...  Johnny Boychuk is tied for the lead among AHL defensemen in points with 25, second in assists with 19, second in shots with 71 and leads all P-Bruins players in power play scoring with 16 points (4g, 12a)...  Brad Marchand is third among league rookies in shots with 72... Matt Lashoff is tied for third in the league among defensemen in scoring with 16 points... The P-Bruins are 14-0-0-0 when scoring three or more goals, 11-0-0-0 when leading after two periods and 11-2-0-0 when scoring first... The P-Bruins have the second best power play in the league, converting 22.0% of the time, while the penalty kill unit is leading the league, killing 89.3% of its penalties.

On Tuesday, December 9Kevin Regan and Matt Marquardt will be at the AT&T store at 1000 Bald Hill Rd. in Warwick, RI from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. The players will be signing autographs and taking pictures with fans. The players will also be giving out tickets to future P-Bruins games.

Brad Marchand and Vladimir Sobotka will appear at Your Sports Memorablilia Store on 170 Thames St. in Newport on Tuesday, December 9 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. The players will be signing autographs and taking pictures with fans.

The P-Bruins are hosting a road game party at FiRE + iCE, located in the Providence Place Mall, on Wednesday, December 10 when the P-Bruins visit the Hartford Wolf Pack at 7 p.m. Fans will be able to watch and listen to the game at FiRE + iCE as the game is shown on the big screen. Fans will have the chance to win autographed merchandise from the 2008-09 Providence Bruins, including an autographed stick and hats. Show any P-Bruins ticket stub and receive an unlimited grill trip dinner for only $9.99.

On Saturday, December 13, the P-Bruins mascot Samboni will be at the Coventry Credit Union in North Kingstown, RI from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Coventry Credit Union is located at 7373 Post Rd.  Samboni will be available to take pictures and sign autographs with fans.
