P-BRUINS FALL TO FALCONS 3-1
Back at The Dunk Friday vs. Worcester
Springfield, MA - The Providence Bruins fell to the Springfield Falcons 3-1 Saturday evening at the MassMutual Center. The P-Bruins got their goal from Kirk MacDonald. The P-Bruins return to the Dunkin' Donuts Center Friday at 7:05 p.m. against the Worcester Sharks for Playing Cards Night.
The Falcons took a 1-0 lead at the 10:07 mark of the opening period, while on a 5-on-3 power play. Maksim Mayorov tallied his tenth goal of the season, with Martin St. Pierre and David Savard recording the assists. Providence tied the game at one at the 13:52 mark, while on the power play. Jamie Arniel had the puck and passed it off to Josh Hennessy. He took a shot and the rebound went to MacDonald in the faceoff circle, where he scored his tenth goal of the season. The game went into the first intermission tied at one.
Springfield retook the lead 37 seconds into the second period. Nick Drazenovic netted his 12th goal of the season, while Brent Regner and Dane Byers picked up the assists. The Falcons made it 3-1 at the 13:17 mark. Drazenovic scored his second goal of the game and 13th goal of the season, while Byers and Matt Calvert had the assists. Springfield led 3-1 going into the second intermission.
After a scoreless third period, the Falcons went onto the 3-1 victory.
Anton Khudobin stopped 20 of 23 shots for the P-Bruins, while Manny Legace made 22 saves for the Falcons. The P-Bruins were 1-for-3 on the power play and 5-for-6 on the penalty kill.
The P-Bruins return to The Dunk Friday for Playing Cards Night presented by Walgreens at 7:05 p.m. against the Sharks.
