Back at The Dunk Sunday for Alumni Game

Portland, ME - The Providence Bruins fell to the Portland Pirates 4-2 Saturday evening at the Cumberland County Civic Center.  The P-Bruins got their goals from Carter Camper and Kirk MacDonald.  The P-Bruins will be hosting an Alumni Game featuring the Providence Bruins Alumni taking on the Boston Bruins Alumni at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Sunday at 2:05 p.m.

The P-Bruins took a 1-0 lead at the 12:47 mark of the opening period, while on the power play.  Nathan Oystrick tallied his fourth goal of the season, with Andy Miele and Mathieu Beaudoin recording the assists.  Portland took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

Portland made it 2-0 at the 17:33 mark of the second period.  Beaudoin netted his fourth goal of the season, while Miele had the lone assist.  The Pirates went ahead 3-0 at the 17:45 mark.  Colin Long scored his third goal of the season, while Igor Gongalsky and Jordan Szwarz.

Providence got on the board at the 4:35 mark of the third period.  MacDonald worked the puck into the zone where it was picked up in the faceoff circle by Maxime Sauve.  He found Camper on the far side of the crease and Camper scored his third goal of the season.  Twelve seconds later the P-Bruins pulled within a goal.  Camper fed MacDonald along the right board.  MacDonald took a shot from up along the boards that slid into the net for his first goal of the season.  Portland finished off the scoring with an empty net goal at the 19:59 mark.  Marc-Antonie Pouliot tallied his second goal of the season, while Brett MacLean and Ryan Hollweg picked up the assists.  The Pirates went onto the 4-2 victory.

Michael Hutchinson stopped 26 of 29 shots for the P-Bruins, while Justin Pogge made 23 saves for the Pirates.  The P-Bruins were 0-for-4 on the power play and 2-for-3 on the penalty kill.
