COLLECTING BEFORE GAMES ON NOVEMBER 21 & 23

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, member of the American Hockey League, announced today they are partnering with The Rhode Island Community Food Bank to collect non-perishable food items before their home games on Friday, November 21 versus the Portland Pirates and Sunday, November 23 versus the Hartford Wolf Pack.

Starting one hour before the games in the lobby of the Dunkin' Donuts Center, Providence Bruin players' wives and girlfriends will be collecting the non-perishable food items.  On Tuesday, November 25 the food will be delivered by a Providence Bruins player to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.

"With the holidays quickly approaching, the Food Bank is grateful to know that we can continue to count on the support of the Providence Bruins and their fans," commented Michael Cerio, Public Relations Manager for the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. "As the economy continues to struggle, more and more Rhode Islanders are turning to food pantries for help. Collections such as this one will go a long way in helping the Food Bank meet the need this season."
