P-BRUINS FALL IN OVERTIME 4-3 TO MONARCHS

Back at The Dunk Friday vs. Worcester Sharks

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins fell in overtime to the Manchester Monarchs 4-3 Sunday afternoon in front of 10,005 fans at the Dunkin' Donuts Center.  The P-Bruins got their goals from Devin Timberlake, Levi Nelson and Andy Wozniewski.  The P-Bruins return home to the Dunkin' Donuts Center Friday at 7:05 p.m. for New England Ambulance Key Chain Night against the Worcester Sharks.

The P-Bruins took a 1-0 advantage at the 18:43 mark of the opening period.  Yannick Riendeau had the puck behind the net and sent it to the point for Alain Goulet.  He took a shot from the blue line and it was redirected into the net by Timberlake.  Providence led 1-0 going into the first intermission.

Manchester tied the game at one at the 8:13 mark of the second period, while on the power play.  Dwight King tallied his tenth goal of the season, with Oscar Moller and Alec Martinez recording the assists.  Providence retook the lead at the 8:26 mark.  Wozniewski sent the puck through the neutral zone where Kenny Roche tipped it ahead to Nelson.  He scored from the left faceoff circle, his eighth goal of the season.  The P-Bruins led 2-1 going into the second intermission.

Providence made it 3-1 at the 1:30 mark of the third period.  John Lammers sent the puck up the boards for Mikko Lehtonen.  He sent the puck back door to Wozniewski, who scored his tenth goal of the season.  Manchester pulled within a goal at the 3:41 mark.  Trevor Lewis netted his third goal of the season, while Andrei Loktionov and Moller picked up the assists.  The Monarchs tied the game at three at the 14:07 mark.  Loktionov tallied his eighth goal of the season, while King grabbed the lone assist.  The game went into overtime tied at three.

The Monarchs scored at the 3:44 mark in overtime to take the 4-3 victory.  Martinez netted his sixth goal of the season, while Justin Azevedo had the lone assist.

Dany Sabourin stopped 33 of 37 shots for the P-Bruins, while Jonathan Bernier made 37 saves for the Monarchs.  The P-Bruins were 0-for-2 on the power play and 1-for-2 on the penalty kill.
