P-BRUINS FALL TO SENATORS 4-3

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins fell to the Binghamton Senators 4-3 Sunday afternoon in front of 8,129 fans at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The P-Bruins got two goals from Ned Lukacevic and a goal from John Lammers. The P-Bruins return home to the Dunkin' Donuts Center Friday, March 26 at 7:05 p.m. for Visor Night against the Portland Pirates.
The Senators took a 1-0 advantage at the 2:30 mark of the opening period, while shorthanded. Derek Smith tallied his tenth goal of the season, with Zack Smith and Josh Hennessy picking up the assists. Providence tied the game at one at the 5:25 mark. Jeff Penner had the puck at the right point and sent it to Levi Nelson. He passed it in front of the net to Lukacevic, who scored his first goal of the season. Binghamton retook the lead at the 15:44 mark. Jason Bailey netted his sixth goal of the season, while Paul Baier and Brandon Svendsen recorded the assists. The P-Bruins tied the game at two at the 17:37 mark. Penner sent the puck up the boards to Zach Hamill at the right point. He fed Lammers, who was cutting towards the net. Lammers scored from just outside the crease, his seventh goal of the season. The game went into the first intermission tied at two.
The P-Bruins took their first lead of the game at the 3:36 mark of the second period. Jeff LoVecchio had the puck along the boards and sent it to Nelson on the opposite side of the ice. He found Lukacevic backdoor, who tallied his second goal of the game and the season. Providence led 3-2 going into the second intermission.
Binghamton tied the game at three at the 8:19 mark of the third period. Ryan Keller scored his 29th goal of the season, while Hennessy and Kaspars Daugavins had the assists. The Senators retook the lead at the 16:14 mark, while on the power play. Hennessy tallied his 26th goal of the season, with Craig Schira getting the lone assist. Binghamton went onto the 4-3 victory.
Dany Sabourin stopped 28 of 32 shots for the P-Bruins, while Chris Holt made 21 saves for the Senators. The P-Bruins were 0-for-5 on the power play and 2-for-3 on the penalty kill.
The P-Bruins begin a four game road trip Wednesday at the XL Center versus the Hartford Wolf Pack at 7:00 p.m. The road trip continues Friday against the Lowell Devils at the Tsongas Arena at 7:00 p.m. Saturday Providence faces the Worcester Sharks at 7:05 p.m. at the DCU Center, before wrapping up the week Sunday back at the XL Center at 3:00 p.m. against the Wolf Pack.
