P-BRUINS FALL IN OVERTIME 2-1
Back at The Dunk Sunday vs. Albany River Rats
Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins fell in overtime to the Hartford Wolf Pack 2-1 Sunday afternoon at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The P-Bruins got their goal from Zach Hamill. The P-Bruins return home to the Dunkin' Donuts Center Sunday at 4:05 p.m. for Thundersticks Night against the Albany River Rats.
After a scoreless opening period, the Wolf Pack took a 1-0 advantage at the 12:56 mark of the second period, while on the power play. Dale Weise tallied his 15th goal of the season with Bobby Sanguinetti and Ilkka Heikkinen recording the assists. Hartford led 1-0 going into the second intermission.
Providence tied the game at one at the 16:20 mark of the third period. Drew Fata put a shot on net and the rebound went to Jordan Knackstedt. He fed Hamill in front of the net, who batted in the goal for his seventh of the season. The game went into overtime tied at one.
Hartford retook the lead at the 2:06 mark in overtime. Paul Crowder netted his eighth goal of the season, while Heikkinen and Dane Byers picked up the assists. The Wolf Pack went on to the 2-1 victory.
Kevin Regan stopped 27 of 29 shots for the P-Bruins, while Chad Johnson made 30 saves for the Wolf Pack. The P-Bruins were 0-for-5 on the power play and 2-for-3 on the penalty kill.
The P-Bruins hit the road Friday to take on the Sound Tigers at the Arena at Harbor Yard at 7:00 p.m. and play in Hartford at the XL Center on Saturday against the Wolf Pack at 7:00 p.m. Providence wraps up the week at The Dunk Sunday at 4:05 p.m. for Thundersticks Night against the River Rats.
