P-BRUINS FALL TO MONARCHS 2-1

Back at The Dunk Sunday vs. Bridgeport Sound Tigers

Manchester, NH - The Providence Bruins defeated the Manchester Monarchs 2-1 Friday evening at the Verizon Wireless Arena.  The P-Bruins got their goal from Guillaume Lefebvre.  The P-Bruins next home game is Sunday at 4:05 p.m. for a Family Game against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

The Monarchs took a 1-0 advantage at the 15:52 mark of the opening period.  John Zeiler tallied his second goal of the season, while Viatcheslav Voynov and Brandon Segal recorded the assists.  The P-Bruins tied the game at one at the 17:30 mark.  Jeff LoVecchio held the puck along the left boards and fed Andy Wozniewski in the slot.  He put a shot on net and the rebound landed on the stick of Lefebvre backdoor, who netted his first goal of the season.  The game went into the first intermission tied at one.

Manchester took a 2-1 lead at the 18:09 mark of the third period, when Oscar Moller scored on a penalty shot, his fourth goal of the season.  The Monarchs held on for the 2-1 victory.

Dany Sabourin stopped 21 of 23 shots for the P-Bruins, while Jonathan Bernier made 28 saves for the Monarchs.  The P-Bruins were 0-for-2 on the power play and 4-for-4 on the penalty kill.
