Veteran Appeared in One Game for Boston During Recall

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, in their 18th year in the American Hockey League, announced that the National Hockey League's Boston Bruins have loaned forward Guillaume Lefebvre to Providence. Lefebvre was recalled by Boston yesterday on an emergency basis and played 11:01 in the Bruins' 4-1 road loss to the Phoenix Coyotes on Saturday.

Invited to Boston's training camp on a tryout agreement, Lefebvre tallied one assist and 14 penalty minutes in five games for the Bruins this preseason.  On September 26, the Bruins signed Lefebvre to a one-year contract, and on Monday, September 28 he was assigned to Providence.

With the Providence Bruins this season, Lefebvre has appeared in four games with 0-1=1 totals and 25 penalty minutes.

Last year with the AHL's Springfield Falcons Lefebvre had 4-9=13 totals with 206 penalty minutes in 70 games played.  Originally drafted by Philadelphia in 2000, Lefebvre was traded to the Pittsburgh organization where he appeared in 12 NHL games with 2-4=6 totals in 2002-03. In his career, the 28-year-old Lefebvre has appeared in 38 NHL games with 2-4=6 totals and 13 penalty minutes.
