P-BRUINS FALL TO FALCONS TO WRAP UP PRE-SEASON

Opening Night Sunday, October 4 at The Dunk

Springfield, MA - The Providence Bruins fell to the Springfield Falcons 5-1 Saturday evening at the MassMutual Center to close out the pre-season.  The P-Bruins got their lone goal from Jamie Arniel.  The P-Bruins open the regular season at The Dunkin' Donuts Center Sunday, October 4 versus the Falcons at 4:05 p.m.

The Falcons took a 1-0 lead at the 18:44 mark of the opening period, while on the power play.  Viacheslav Trukhno scored from the slot, his second goal of the pre-season, with Chris Armstrong grabbing the lone assist.   Springfield went into the first intermission leading 1-0.

The Falcons went ahead 2-0 at the 14:24 mark of the second period, while on the power play.  Charles Linglet scored backdoor, his second goal of the pre-season, with Armstrong recording the lone assist.  Springfield took a 2-0 lead into the second intermission.

Springfield took a 3-0 advantage at the 12:56 mark of the third period.  Linglet netted his second goal of the game and third of the pre-season, while Trukhno had the lone assist.  The P-Bruins got on the board at the 17:17 mark.  Jeff Penner passed the puck off to Arniel in the slot and he tallied his first goal of the pre-season.  Thirty seconds later the Falcons Geoff Paukovich scored an empty net goal, his first of the pre-season, while Armstrong picked up his third assist of the night.  The Falcons finished off the scoring at the 19:27 mark.  Trukhno netted his second goal of the game and third of the pre-season with Adam Henrich getting the lone assist.  Springfield went on to the 5-1 victory.

Kevin Regan stopped 15 of 19 shots for the P-Bruins, while Andrew Perugini made 12 saves and Bryan Pitton made 14 saves for the Falcons.  The P-Bruins were 0-for-6 on the power play and 3-for-5 on the penalty kill.
