Right Wing Rejoins Providence

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, in their 17th season in the American Hockey League, announced that forward Jordan Knackstedt has been signed to a Professional Tryout Agreement. With the move, Providence has 24 players on its roster, including 15 forwards, seven defensemen and two goaltenders.

Knackstedt, 20, rejoins Providence for his second professional season and first full year after a short stint with the P-Bruins late in 2007-08. After completing his fourth junior season last year with the Moose Jaw Warriors of the Western Hockey League, the right wing signed an Amateur Tryout Agreement with Providence on April 5, 2008, going on to appear in five games during the regular season and score two goals. Knackstedt added a goal in four postseason games as well.

The native of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, registered 25 multi-point outings over the course of last season, twice recording four points in a single game. He also had seven points-streaks of at least three games with the longest stretch lasting eight contests. In his junior career, Knackstedt recorded 184 points (67g, 117a) in 268 games between Moose Jaw and the Red Deer Rebels. He was drafted by the Boston Bruins 189th overall in round seven of the 2007 National Hockey League Entry Draft.
