Defenseman Joins Providence from Colgate University

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, in their 17th season in the American Hockey League, announced that defenseman Jason Fredricks has been signed to an Amateur Tryout Agreement. With the move, the P-Bruins have 25 players on their roster, including 14 forwards, seven defensemen and two goaltenders.

Fredricks, 22, joins Providence for his first professional experience following four seasons playing for the Colgate University Raiders. As a senior, the undrafted native of Eagle River, Wisconsin, scored a career-high 16 points, including a personal-best five goals in 37 games. Fredricks tallied a career-best 12 assists during a 15-point sophomore campaign. In his four years in the ECAC, the defenseman appeared in 149 games, totaling 41 points (10g, 31a) and 84 penalty minutes.
