DUNKIN' DONUTS MUG NIGHT FRIDAY AT DUNK

The first place P-Bruins return to the Dunkin' Donuts Center for two home games Friday and Sunday.  On Friday the P-Bruins face the Portland Pirates at 7:05 p.m. for "Dunkin' Donuts Mug Night".  For Sunday's contest, the P-Bruins take on the Rochester Americans at 4:05 p.m. for "LUKOIL Thunderstick Night".  For tickets to either of these games visit www.providencebruins.com or call 401-273-5000.  The P-Bruins will be on the road this week Wednesday Jan 14 at Lowell and Saturday Jan 17 at Hartford.   

This past week, the P-Bruins played three games.  The P-Bruins started the week by visiting the Manchester Monarchs on Wednesday.  The P-Bruins fell to Manchester 3-2 in overtime.  The lone goals came from Brad Marchand and Martins KarsumsTuukka Rask was in net and stopped 27 of 30 shots. 

On Friday, the P-Bruins returned to The Dunk to take on the Bridgeport Sound Tigers for the first time this season.  After an early goal by the Sound Tigers the P-Bruins took control and went on to a 4-1 victory.  The four P-Bruins goals came from Jeremy ReichJordan Knackstedt, Vladimir Sobotka and Marchand.  Rask stopped 26 of 27 shots he faced while the P-Bruins went 3-for-3 on the penalty kill.
 
On Sunday, the P-Bruins fell to the Lowell Devils 5-2.  The P-Bruins goals came from Wacey Rabbit and Jeff Penner.  Kevin Regan was in net for the P-Bruins stopping 25 of 29 shots while the team remained sharp on special teams killing off all three penalties.

Through 41 games, Martins Karsums remains in the lead in team scoring with 39 points (16g, 23a).  Martin St. Pierre is second on the team in scoring with 38 points (10g, 28a).  The third and fourth spots are occupied by Johnny Boychuk 35 points (9g, 26a) and Brad Marchand 26 points (8g, 18a) respectively.  Vladimir Sobotka rounds out the top five on the team in scoring with 23 points (11g, 12a).  In net, Tuukka Rask is 17-13 with a 2.42 GAA and a .919 save percentage, while Kevin Regan is 6-4-1 with a 3.33 GAA and a .875 save percentage.

Ice Chips: The P-Bruins are first in the Atlantic Division with 49 points, four points ahead of the Portland Pirates... Johnny Boychuk leads league defensemen in points with 35, is tied for the lead in goals with 9, first in shots with 121 and leads all P-Bruins players in power play scoring with 24 points (6g, 18a)...  Brad Marchand leads all rookies in shots with 124 and is eighth among rookies in scoring with 26 points...  He is also on a team high six-game point scoring streak... Tuukka Rask is tied for second in the league in wins with 17, third in the league in saves with 808, second in the league in minutes played with 1,761 and is in the top ten in goals against average at 2.42... The P-Bruins are 22-0-0-1 when scoring three or more goals, 17-0 when leading after two periods and 8-1-2-1 in one goal games.
