BOSTON RELEASES 13 FROM CAMP

Seven Members of Group Formerly with Providence

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, the 2007-08 regular season champions of the American Hockey League, announced that the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League have released 13 players from the club's training camp. Providence now has 21 players in its camp, including 14 forwards, five defensemen and two goaltenders.

Reporting to the P-Bruins are forwards Byron Bitz, Zach Hamill, Martins Karsums, Jordan Knackstedt, Mikko Lehtonen, Brad Marchand and Matt Marquardt, as well as defensemen Andrew Bodnarchuk and Adam McQuaid, and goalie Kevin Regan.

Defensemen Johnny Boychuk, Mike Egener and Ryan Stokes were all placed on waivers and, if they clear waivers, will be assigned to Providence.
