P-BRUINS FALL TO WOLF PACK 3-2

Back At The Dunk Friday vs. Toronto Marlies

Hartford, CT - The Providence Bruins fell to the Hartford Wolf Pack 3-2 Wednesday evening at the XL Center.  The P-Bruins got their goals from Jeff Penner and Peter Schaefer.  The first place P-Bruins are back at home at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Friday versus the Toronto Marlies at 7:05 p.m. for a Family Game.

After a scoreless opening period, the Wolf Pack got on the board with a shorthanded goal at the 2:47 mark.  Patrick Rissmiller netted his third goal of the season, while Brodie Dupont grabbed the lone assists.  Hartford went ahead 2-0 at the 7:19 mark, while on the power play.  David Urquhart tallied his third goal of the season with Rissmiller and Artem Anisimov recording the assists.  Providence pulled within a goal while on a 5-on-3 power play at the 13:51 mark.  Martins Karsums sent the puck from the corner to Martin St. Pierre behind the net.  He found Penner in the slot and Penner scored his fourth goal of the season.  The P-Bruins trailed 2-1 heading into the second intermission.

In the third period, the P-Bruins tied the game at two at the 10:14 mark on their second power play goal of the evening.  St. Pierre sent the puck from the corner to Johnny Boychuk at the right point where he took a shot.  Wolf Pack net minder Miika Wiikman made the save, but Schaefer was there to poke home the rebound.  With the P-Bruins back on the power play the Wolf Pack picked up their second shorthanded goal of the evening, this one at the 15:02 mark.  Greg Moore tallied his ninth goal of the season with Dupont getting the lone assist.  The goal turned out to be the game winner as Hartford went on to the 3-2 victory.

Tuukka Rask stopped 18 of 21 shots he faced for the P-Bruins, while Wiikman made 26 saves for the Wolf Pack.  The P-Bruins were 2-for-8 on the power play and 4-for-5 on the penalty kill.

The P-Bruins are back at home at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Friday versus the Toronto Marlies at 7:05 p.m. for a Family Game.  Providence then heads back on the road Saturday to take on the Portland Pirates at the Cumberland County Civic Center at 7:00 p.m. before wrapping up the week at home at The Dunk Sunday versus the Springfield Falcons at 4:05 p.m. for a Family Game.  Information on P-Bruins tickets can be obtained by calling the team ticket office at (401) 273-5000 or by logging onto the team website at providencebruins.com.
